Ola Nilsson works mainly idea-based with sculptural objects, installations, sound art, sound text art, text art and moving images. The focus for many of his older works has been how visitors choose to interact with the work. This has, for example, resulted in an investigation of the game’s mechanisms through interactive sculptures / games. In recent years, the theme of his work has consisted of questions about language, identity, memory and loss where the linguistic and bodily issues of psychoanalysis are glimpsed. The pedagogical situation that the works establish in contact with the visitor constitutes key elements in the performatively oriented practice. Ola Nilsson works as an art consultant with public site-specific art for Stockholm Konst and HSB Bostad and is a member of Fylkingen, Stockholm, Sweden.
