Ola Nilsson has an idea based practice that takes on sculptural objects, installations, sound art, audio text art, text, still and moving images. The work of recent years has explored the concept of ”presence/absence” from a broader human perspective in the sense that all living things trembles to some extent. The work has resulted in various vibrating machines in sheet metal and large transfer prints on textiles, but also audiovisual works, photos and videos. In several of the projects, he calls on outside expertise such as the Royal Institute of Technology and other actors in the execution. Several works take shape during stays at residencies, most recently at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, Villa San Michele in Capri, Italy and Loviisa Artist Studio, Finland. Ola Nilsson is a member of Fylkingen, Stockholm, Sweden and works as an art project manager with public site-specific art for Stockholm Konst.
