Mumble is a text/sound work in which the sounding qualities of a conversation are in focus.
It makes use of the statements, questions and laughs contained in a conversation about art at the Stockholm County Council. The conversation is processed with echo, overlays and distortion, to put focus on the emotional experience.
Melody, intonation and accent are significant elements in the language of an experience-based language perception. A way of communicating not guided by logical thought or narrative, which tells a different story than the one that places events in time or creates dialogue.
In this context, unintelligible text sequences may seem liberating in the sense that they make no claim to logical perception.
